10 Travel Tips for People in Pain

Plane takeoffTraveling with Pain

by Loolwa Khazzoom, Director, Dancing with Pain

Traveling can be a royal pain for those of us in, well, pain.  Here are my 10 travel tips for people in pain — based on what has helped minimize the struggle for me:

1.  Leave adventure for something other than your lodgings.

Chain hotels are ideal for those of us in pain.  Once you find a hotel that has a system that works for you, stick with it wherever you travel.  If you stay at the same hotel every time, and/or use their credit card for your daily purchases, you can rack up points and earn free nights.  . Also, if you enroll in their special deals programs, you will get notice of special rates at hotel locations across the country.  For Nine more tips ….

FireFox - Cut and Paste the Easy Way

Getting Cut and Paste Back the Way You Want It

One thing I find annoying is when I right click to cut and paste and I get the reminder that my security setting prohibit cut and paste without control V or C. I finally got around to finding out how to fix it and doing something about it. It is not for the total novice but it is not terribly complicated either. If you have been wanting to use the cut and paste button in Firefox and other Mozilla browsers here is the way.

This is an issue when cutting and pasting into some text boxes generally ones that are used in applications like Wordpress, blogger and other CMS systems.

Back Pain Treatments - A waste of money ?

Back PainIncidence of back pain increases while spending increases

"Back Pain Spending Surge Shows No Benefit - Americans are spending more money than ever to treat spine problems, but their backs aren’t getting any better," says the New York Times

 And from the Journal Watch

The dramatic increase in pharmacy expenses — mostly attributable to expensive new drugs such as gabapentin, fentanyl, and time-released oxycodone — has not resulted in a corresponding improvement in functional status for these patients.

I have a serious problem with this type of reporting. This was a compilation of surveys and did not provide evidence that treatments were not effective.  But what evidence does it provide?
