Managing Chronic Gout

Celery seeds from Wikipedia CommonsNatural Pain Relief from Chronic Gout

Metabolic arthritis or gout is caused by a buildup of uric acid, which is deposited on the affected joints from the bloodstream.  Gout is constituted by severe, sudden, burning pain, stiffness, warmth, and swelling in affected joints.  Coping with chronic gout can be difficult, but these natural pain relief techniques may help you manage the condition.

Gout

Gout’s symptoms include stiffness, warmth, swelling, and sudden, severe burning pain in affected joints.  Common joints that are affected by gout include the big toe, spine, fingers, knees, elbows, ankle, instep, wrist, and heel.

Given that gout is caused by the excess buildup of uric acid, it is important to reduce uric acid in the body when possible.

Relieving Chronic Gout

According to Natural Cures and Remedies, there are several things you can do in order to help manage the symptoms of gout naturally.  For instance, the site suggests taking apple cedar vinegar at a dose of one teaspoon in a glass of water two times each day.  Apple cider vinegar fosters a more alkaline body atmosphere, which is beneficial for individuals who suffer with gout.

The site also suggests taking cod liver oil because it helps vitamin A reduce the level of uric acid within the body, the cause of gout.  It is suggested one take one teaspoon of high-vitamin cod liver oil each day for the treatment of gout.

Celery seeds supposedly reduce the amount of uric acid in the body as well, and are thus also good for treating chronic gout naturally.  It is suggested you cook one teaspoon of celery seeds in two cups of water.  Drain the water when the seeds get soft and keep it.  Drink one-half cup of celery seed water four times each day for gout symptom management.

Finally, drinking pure cherry juice can help you manage your chronic gout naturally.  According to Natural Cures and Remedies, cherry juice contains anthocyanins, which help reduce uric acid in the body as well as reducing inflammation.  Either drink one teaspoon of sugar-free cherry juice concentrate two times each day or drink 100% cherry juice to reap the benefits of this natural remedy.

If you suffer from chronic gout, I urge you to try some of these remedies.  You may also visit Natural Cures and Remedies for even more suggestions on how to lower the amount of uric acid in your body.

I once did a research paper that included information about the causes and treatment of gout, and it is pleasing to see natural treatment or ways to control it as opposed to a mix of drugs created to handle certain aspects of the issue.
