Excessive Blogging and Other Computer Use Can Cause Eye Strain Pain
Do you ever notice that your eyes are hurting you. As the title above states, your very act of staring at the computer screen could be causing eye strain. This strain not only makes your eyes tired, but can also cause headaches and blurred vision. Our eyes were not meant for staring at a computer screen for excessive periods of time. But if you can’t give up your computer like all the rest of us bloggers, there is fortunately a way to exercise your eyes and create blogging conditions that can minimize the strain that is caused by using a computer for long periods of time.
Eye Exercise
You can also surprisingly do eye exercises. You can improve your eye’s ability to focus by focusing on your thumb, breathing deeply, and then focusing on an object further away. You can also sit and scan the room, focusing on the edges of objects. Both of these exercises can improve your eye strength and also improve your eye’s ability to handle long-term, intense blogging.
After a long day of staring at a computer screen, you might find that you have a difficult time following the text on the screen. You might even see double vision while working away at your computer. In the short run, you might find your eyes irritated and your head pounding. In the long run, you might even need to get a stronger prescription for your glasses.
More Healing Techniques
Your eyes need rest like every other part of the body. Sleep does a fantastic job repairing your eyes, and this process can be enhanced by using a herbal eye pillow. You can also use a hot water and cold water technique. Fill a bowl with hot water and fill another bowl with cold water. Put a rag in each bowl. Then take turns putting each rag over your eyes for 30 seconds. You might also want to try the aqua spirit steamer, which will steam your face and ease every part of your face including your eyes and skin.
You can also change your working conditions. Your computer screen should be at or slightly lower than your eye level. Tilt your computer if you start to experience screen glare. Face away from windows when working. Clean your screen regularly. And take breaks every hour of work.
