Unclogging the Clog in Your Eye
You might notice that your eye is twitching uncontrollably. This confusing phenomenon is caused by a stye. A stye are bumps on your eye that are caused by clogged glands. This can make your eye sensitive to light and cause eye pain. To get rid of it, you’re going to have to get your eye glands unclogged in the same way that a pimple needs to be unclogged.
Usually heat is the best way to unclog a stye, and there are several different ways that heat can be used to treat a stye, ranging from heat pads to teabags to acacia leaves. You can also take various herbal remedies that are meant to help fight the bacteria in your body. Dandelion seed tea and burdock-seed tea have strong, natural antibiotic properties that can fight the bacteria that causes stye. Other remedies include:
- Tumeric boiled in a cup of water
- Coriander seeds boiled in a cup of water
- Guava leaves warmed and placed on a towel
- Water with alum added
- Clove
- Aloe leaf
In each of these cases, the herb should be applied to your eyes. Just be careful not to warm up the herb too much. You might also want to try the aqua spirit steamer. This product will give your eyes all the heat and moisture it needs to unclog the stye and provide pain relief.
There are a few practices that can make stye worse and should be avoided if possible. These practices are:
- Rubbing your eyes
- Wearing makeup
- Wearing contact lenses
Also, even though a stye is liek a pimple, do not try to pop a stye. Popping a stye can lead to infection and you can seriously damage your eye while popping a stye. Instead, follow the remedies above and wait for the stye to heal.
