Overcoming Anxiety

How to Overcome Your Fear

Panic attacks are seemingly uncontrollable moments of extreme anxiety that overwhelm an individual. Panic attacks are horrible to experience and they can hinder social relationships and job performance. Also, anxiety in general can impair you. Your anxiety might discourage you from pursuing a relationship, job, or other activity. Anxiety attacks can also prevent you from focusing on what you’re doing and also decrease your alertness.

If you experience a sudden panic attack, the best way to work through the panic attack is to attempt relaxation techniques. Deep breathing and meditation work, as does tensing and then relaxing your muscles. You can also attempt massage therapy or heat therapy.

Exercise and support networks are great ways to prevent anxiety. Not only can you get regular practice interacting with people, but if your friends are understanding, they should be able to talk you through your anxiety attack. Staying away from sugary foods and caffeine also helps, since these substances increase your anxiety and tension. You should also try to reduce your stress and improve your diet.

There are a large variety of herbs and vitamins that help combat anxiety. These vitamins and herbs are:

  • Bilberry

  • Calcium

  • Catnip

  • Chamomile

  • DL-Phenylalanine

  • Essential Fatty Acids

  • Feverhew

  • Ginkgo Biloba

  • Hops

  • Kava

  • Magnesium Complex

  • Milk Thistle

  • Motherwort

  • Passionflower

  • St. John’s Wort

  • S-Adenosylmethionine

  • Vitamin B Complex

  • Vitamin C

  • Vitamin E

  • Zinc

Some of these vitamins and herbs detoxify the body, while others have direct calming effects. All of these vitamins and herbs generally promote health. If you take these herbs on a regular basis and practice relaxation techniques, you will have nothing to worry about.
