
The Unwanted Cough
A cough is a forceful release of air from the lungs, which protects the respiratory system by removing foreign objects from it. Everyone normally coughs at least once or twice a day. But what about those coughs that typically come around when a person is sick with the common cold and or the flu? It can be positively dreadful. All of the coughing leaves your throat on the verge of becoming sore, not to mention the chest is in pain due to so many coughing fits. Coughing can be very good, except when it is done too much and causing painfulness in different areas because of it. There are ways to clear up the unwanted cough, but when all else fails we just need to stick it out.
Water, Fluids, and More Water
Getting a lot of fluids and plenty of water is one key in aiding a cough. The reason for this is because it can help thin and loosen the mucus in the cough due to the common cold. Another reason for this is because it helps to soothe a dry and or sore throat due to coughing.
Lemon, Honey, and Carrot Juice
Just like with a sore throat lemon and honey can help to ease unwanted coughing. Simply mix equal parts lemon juice and honey and store it in a small container with lid in the refrigerator. Take a teaspoon of the lemon juice and honey mixture as needed throughout the day. Another way to do this is by mixing carrot juice and honey, following the same directions used for the lemon juice and honey mixture.
Grape Juice and Aniseed
Aniseed is great for those unwanted coughing attacks. Simply create a tea using aniseed and drink it daily. Another great treatment for a cough is grape juice. Grapes work as an expectorant. Drinking a glass of grape juice can really an unwanted cough, so it’s always a great idea some on hand when struck with a cough.
