Dealing With An Earache

man, scream, screaming, ear, face, beard

The Pain of An Earache

The meaning for "earache" is simply pain in the ear. Sounds simple, doesn’t it? Well, as simple as it sounds it can be quite painful, not to mention annoying because you can’t hear quite as well with the ear that is in pain. Dealing with an earache is not something that people look forward to doing. Sometimes an earache can go away the same day that it came on and sometimes it may take a few days before it goes away, however there are ways of dealing with the pain of an earache.

Raw Garlic

As disgusting as it sounds eating one clove of raw garlic a day can possibly bring an earache to an end. However, by eating raw garlic it can possibly cause gastrointestinal upset as well. So, it is really up to the patient as to whether or not they want to chance it.

Antibiotic Properties of Garlic

Garlic is know for being somewhat of an antibiotic. Extract some juice from a few cloves of fresh garlic followed by warming the juice up a tiny bit. Put a few drops of the warm garlic juice into the infected ear.

The Answer Is Always Heat

One of the most common solutions to help aid the pain of an earache is a hot compress. This is done by soaking a bath cloth with hot water and then wringing it out to get the excess water out, and having the patient lay down on their side with the painful ear pointing down. Fold the warm cloth and place it under the patient’s painful ear and then allow them to fully lay their head down sideways with their ear and the cloth laying on perhaps a pillow.

Quick Relief With Ginger

Extract some juice from a fresh piece of ginger and warm the juice up. Put a few drops of the warm ginger juice into the infected ear. This will help to bring a little quicker relief to an earache.
