Headaches and Aromatherapy
The majority of the population in the world is affected by some form of a headache. There are many medicines available over the counter used to treat and aid in the pain of a headache. However, these medicines usually work against the kidney and or liver if taken for a long period of time. If you suffer from headaches and choose to not use over the counter medicine then you may want to use something natural to help aid your headache. Essential oils are used by many people these days, and due to the internet being a big part of today’s technology you can purchase essential oils online at your convenience.
The three most popular essential oils used for headaches are peppermint, lavender, and eucalyptus. Simply choose one of three of these essential oils and dab a tiny amount on each temple.
Create a Compress
Another trick is to create a compress with either peppermint essential oil, lavender essential oil, or eucalyptus essential oil. Mix 4 - 6 drops of the chosen essential oil with a cup of cold water.Next, soak a bath cloth in the essential oil and water combination for a few minutes, wringing the cloth out to get any excess water from out of it. Lay down with your eyes closed and place the cloth on your forehead or over your eyes.
Peppermint a Quick Fix
If you are looking for a quick fix peppermint essential oil will usually do the trick. Remove the cap from the bottle of peppermint essential oil and briefly sniff the essential oil. Most of the time this trick will help take away the majority of pain associated with headaches.
Lavender Bath
Sometimes we want to take a time out and relax without a quick fix. A good tip for this would be to relax in a nice warm bath, adding 20 drops of lavender essential oil to the water before getting in it. For extra relief try using a compress after taking a bath in lavender water.
