Allergy Season 101

It’s that time of year again when there is plenty of pollen in the air and seasonal allergies begin to act up. Sinus headaches, stuffy noses, and water eyes are all common signs of allergies, not to mention sneezing. Allergies are reactions of the immune system responding to harmless substances. Seasonal allergies aren’t painful unless a bad sinus headaches comes along with it. Allergies aren’t exactly bad, but they can be a pain to deal with.

Is There Really An Allergy Diet?

Yes and no. There are certain foods that can be eaten along drinking certain drinks that can be beneficial to allergy season, mostly if you find yourself being attacked by allergies at this time of the year though. As for drinks, drink plenty of water and fruit juices, and also green tea. Eating rice, White Fish, Turkey, walnuts, almonds, cayenne pepper, garlic, and plenty of vegetables can all be beneficial to allergy season.

As Sweet As Honey

Honey is wonderful for so many different things, whether it be for treating ailments or for cooking. By taking a teaspoon of honey once every day in the morning for 2 - 3 weeks it may help to relieve allergy sufferers.

A Garden of Relief

So many different herbs are good for helping to relieve allergies. Either take a look in your very own herb garden or plant your own herb garden if you don’t already have one. The herbs chamomile, ginger, licorice root, eucalyptus, and many more are all very useful herbs for allergies. You can cook with herbs, make teas with them, etc. Be sure to research any used herb to be sure that it can be internally ingested in the form that you are trying to do so.
