The Irritation of Asthma

asthma, inhaler

Along Comes Asthma…

Asthma is a disorder that causes spasms of the the airway passages (bronchial tubes) in the lungs, which causes wheezing, tightness in the chest, and coughing. Asthma will make a person feel like it’s hard to catch a breath most of the time. The irritated inflammation of asthma causes the airway passages to narrow periodically. It is difficult to say what truly causes asthma, however, irritants such as smoking and polluted air, allergens, and certain medicines can bring on asthma. Though asthma sounds like it is difficult to live with many people do it every day. There are ways of dealing with asthma.

Dairy and Oregano

Try avoiding as many dairy products as possible. The reason for this is because dairy products are known to increase mucus production, so it is best to avoid them whenever possible.

The herb oregano is known for being useful as a homeopathic medicine for respiratory conditions. Use this herb when cooking. Dried or fresh oregano can be used, however fresh is almost always better.

Fatty Acids and Vitamin C

The word fatty and vitamin don’t exactly sound like they belong together, do they? While this may be true it is a good combination of words for asthma sufferers. Essential fatty acids are helpful supplements for asthma. Vitamin C is a natural antihistamine and protects the lungs.

Mustard Oil and and Camphor

During an asthma attack it can be very beneficial to massage a mixture of mustard oil with a little bit of camphor all over the back of the chest.

The Power of Juniper Essential Oil

Juniper essential oil is very good for asthma sufferers. Simply add a few drops of juniper essential oil to very hot water, making sure not to touch it while it’s very hot so as not to burn yourself, and inhale the steam. This will act as a natural inhaler for asthma sufferers.
