Pulling the Trigger on Myofascial Pain

Ways to Relieve That Mysterious Pain

Myofascial pain sure is mysterious. You might have injured yourself, but find pain in an area away from the site of the injury. You might also be feeling myofascial pain after a hard day’s work or a couple of sleepless nights. On the flip side, if a part of your body has been immobilized due to an injury, you might start to feel myofascial pain. Myofascial pain can also be caused by hormonal deficiencies, infections, and bad nutrition. But regardless of the cause, with these treatments found below, pain relief is in sight.

So what is often the most effective way to eliminate myofascial pain? Get 8 hours of sleep. These days, we are overworked and undernourished. Your body might need time to heal. Instead of going for the expensive treatments that your doctor might have recommended, you can simply get a full night’s rest.

Sometimes, however, nutritional deficiencies might prevent your body from healing properly. If you feel that you aren’t able to get the fruits and vegetables that you need in your diet, you can remedy some of your nutritional deficiency with herbal nutritional supplements. There are also plenty of herbs that can help remedy the problem like:

  • Boswellia
  • Willow Bark

Also, physical therapy might do the trick. Massaging can relieve the pain and loosen up your muscles. In addition to that, if you really want to take care of myofascial pain, you can use the "cool and stretch" technique. Stretch the part of your muscle that hurts and wrap a natural cooling wrap on the painful muscle. Continue stretching and allow the cooling wrap to work its magic. This process relieves pain and assists the affected muscle in healing completely.
