The Dreadful Pain of Strains
Strains, otherwise known as pulled muscles, are never fun to deal. Strains (or pulled muscles) are typically caused by over stretching, stretching a part of your body that you aren’t used to stretching, etc. A strain develops when the muscle fibers tear. The signs of a strain are usually stiffness, pain, inflammation, etc. The key things to remember when treating a sprain is to always stop whatever activity that caused the strain, ice the pulled muscle with an ice pack, keep the pulled muscle elevated in order to prevent blood from pooling in the painful area. But what if all of that isn’t enough? The good news is that there are natural ways of treating a strain in order to heal it.
Soothing Chamomile
Chamomile is known for sometimes being able to relieve muscle aches. By creating a massage oil made up of 4 drops of chamomile essential oil and a tablespoon of carrier oil, and gently massaging it into the pulled muscle it can relieve a decent amount of the pain.
The Relaxation of Thyme
The herb thyme is known for relaxing the muscles in the respiratory tract. Five to ten drops of thyme essential oil can be placed in a bath in order to help relax strained areas of the body. Also, a warm bath will help relax the body due to the heat. A warm bath is almost like heat therapy.
Water and Neem
Water and neem oil, otherwise known as margosa oil, are two very useful things when it comes to strains. First of all it is very important to drink eight glasses of water a day to keep the body hydrated. Second of all, the oil neem can be used as a massage oil. When used on a strain it will penetrate and heal the area.
