The Problem
Back pain, whether it be the lower or upper back, is one of the most common forms of pain found in adults. It can be caused by a number of things, such as bad posture, stress, an un-proportioned body, spinal problems, bending over improperly, etc. Some serious back injuries related to back pain can be cured with surgery, however, not all serious back injuries can be cured as easily as that. The good news is that there are natural methods that can be used in order to help aid and or temporarily relieve back pain.
Natural Methods
Vitamin C and vitamin E can help to repair damaged tissue, which is easily found orange juice. However, if taking a vitamin C supplement then it is suggested to not take anymore than 2 - 4 g daily. Another vitamin that is recommended is vitamin B complex, which can help to build strong bones along with calcium. Bromelain, which is an enzyme found in pineapples, can help with the inflammation in the back. Sleeping on a firm mattress can sometimes ease backache. When a fish oil supplement is taken daily it helps to rid back pain. Garlic is said to be good for high cholesterol, however, it can also be used for back pain by massaging garlic oil onto the aching back. Also, those who are over weight tend to experience back pain as well due to the extra weight, so a plan to lose a few extra pounds may help as well.
The Art of Breathing
Though it may sound odd, learning to breathe correctly is quite helpful in aiding back pain. Breathing correctly increases the level of oxygen being taken into your system, which helps eliminate toxins in the body as well helping to defeat stress. A good way to learn how to breathe correctly would be to either read a book or watch a video on yoga.
Not Always a Spinal Problem
Keep in mind that a lot of the time back pains are not created by spinal problems. A common form of back pain is caused by aching muscles. By doing exercises to strengthen the back muscles it can reduce a lot of back pain in the long run.
