Natural Pain Relief for Fibromyalgia
Do you suffer from Arthritis or Fibromyalgia? Do you ever get muscle strains or bruises? Do you ever suffer from minor to moderate pain? If you answered, “yes,” to even one of these questions, you will benefit from reading this post. I will review the Salonpas Pain Relieving Patch as a form of natural pain relief below!
Pain
Pain can be a result of many conditions and injuries today. Some of the most common sources of pain include:
· Arthritis
· Fibromyalgia
· Sprains
· Strains
· Bruises
· Sports injuries
· Work injuries
Whatever the source of your pain, chances are you want to get some relief from it, especially if it is chronic or your experience pain often. Salonpas pain patches have been made since 1934, but they did not reach the United States until 1987. Moreover, I only learned about Salonpas a couple of weeks ago on a chronic pain forum.
Salonpas Pain Patches
Salonpas pain patches allow you to relieve your pain without taking any pills. The patches contain capsaicin, menthol, and ethyl salicylate. Salonpas also produces seven different products for different types of pain, which I will discuss shortly.
I have been using the regular Salonpas pain relieving patches that come in boxes of 40 patches each for my fibromyalgia pain. I have noticed the patches work well for mild to moderate pain, but not for severe pain. I love two things about the Salonpas patches in particular. First, while other creams and patches tend to make my skin feel like it is burning, these patches do not make my skin feel like that.
Second, I like that I can uses these patches almost anywhere on my body without it posing a danger to my health. Lidoderm, another topical anesthetic patch only available by prescription, cannot be placed anywhere on the body except for on the back and feet because it poses a huge risk for stopping the heart if too much of the medication gets into the bloodstream or if the patch is too close to the heart.
Additionally, Salonpas has different products for different types of pain, so there are plenty of products to choose from for different types of people. For instance, children as young as 2 can use Salonpas gel. All other Salonpas products must be used on children at least 12 years of age.
According to the Salonpas pain patch website, the regular Salonpas patches are especially good for stiff and/or painful necks and shoulders. Salonpas Aqua Patch is especially good for sprains, bruises, and strains due to exercise, and the patch has a cooling effect while on your body. Air Salonpas is especially good for painful calves and knees immediately after exercise, as it stays on even though you are sweating. It also has a cooling sensation.
Salonpas Large are patches that are good for individuals who are sensitive to capsaicin or who you need a larger patch than the regular Salonpas pain patches. The site asserts Salonpas Gel Patches are especially good for chronic lower back pain caused by an old job or sports injury. Finally, Salonpas Hot is great for minor pains, such as if you have been in the car for a while, or if you have spent a long time in bed.
Another thing I like about Salonpas pain patches is that they work for an extended period of time – up to eight hours. While you may leave a patch on for up to eight hours, do not apply more than 3-4 patches within a 24-hour period. They are also economical, with a box of 40 patches costing approximately $4-5, depending on where you buy them.
If you are interested in trying any of the Salonpas products for yourself, especially the Salonpas pain patches, you can find the products at department, drug, and grocery stores.
Please consult your doctor if you want to use Salonpas products while you are pregnant or if you want to use these products on children under the age of twelve.
