Hello there, I just stumbled upon this site and thought it looked like a good place to start. I'm looking into pain relief treatments for my husband who has arthritis.
For my arthritis in the hands, heat works best. I like microwavable heat pads, I tried paraffin wax but it was a little too involved for me. Supplements work well for some, I have a hard time keeping up daily with them. I try to stay away from shots, and over reliance on pills.

Yes heat can be really good for arthritis. It's ok if you are going to a physio to have it applied but otherwise the wax is very messy and time consuming.
I came across a herb called “Devil's Claw” (harpagophytum procumbens) which has apparently been used for centuries to treat arthritis and rheumatism - hence the name. I've read that it detoxifies the body and strengthens the immune system.
Has anyone used it, and if so was there any benefit? Would like your opinions please.
