This thread is dedicated to the marvelous technique of pain relieving invented by Chinese. Anyone who has gone through this treatment can share their experiences over here. I also once during my visit to China gone through this treatment by a local practitioner in Beijing; as my I was having severe pain in my neck and shoulders muscle due to muscle pull. Believe me it was quite an experience. My Chinese friend took me to the institute in the morning; as I couldn’t stand the pain when I woke up. At first I was reluctant and then hearing about all that needles I was scared very much. But trust me after getting inserted the second needle in my body I was strangely feeling much better.

Well I too had experienced this treatment and no doubt it is a very good technique for pain relieving. But first I think I would just elaborate shortly what this technique is:

Acupuncture: the Chinese practice of piercing specific areas of the body along peripheral nerves with fine needles to relieve pain, induce surgical anesthesia, and for therapeutic purposes. Dorland's Pocket Medical Dictionary, 25th ed. W. B. Saunders Co., 1995

Since acupuncture is now very popular in America as well so I went their for treatment of my sleep disorder and yes after few days treatment I much better; to the least I can say after this treatment whenever I woke up from sleep I felt at peace and mentally active but before it due to sleep disorder I usually woke d up with a headache.

I also had my experience of this treatment in America. As the major part of my job includes typing with the keyboard; so as you know mild carpel tunnel syndrome as well as different form of wrist pains is frequently experienced by me. At first I was only used different pain killers or simple hand exercises but all this didn’t help me much. One day my co-worker gave told me about this technique and its benefits. At first I was reluctant; seeing this one day after office she herself took me to an acupuncturist and after few minutes talks the acupuncturist convinced me to have the treatment. And that was just the start. Now I go there anytime I feel the pain without any reluctance.

I am also a firm believer in acupuncture treatment and since my job also involves a great deal of keyboard typing so I have to take the treatment after every weak or fortnight. I also planned to get myself trained in this technique but due to some unexplained phobia with the needles I am afraid to practice it much. But anyhow this treatment has always come to my rescue whenever I needed. I have also introduced this technique to many of my friends and fellow-workers and not mention to my immediate supervisor who also got very happy after receiving the first treatment.

Hmmm… … ya its true that now in America we have many acupuncturist and since, one of my friend happen to be an acupuncturist so I am a firm believer in this traditional Chinese medicine. My friend unexpectedly happens to be a very good acupuncturist although he is non-Chinese. He received his training from Chinese acupuncturist after being inspired when this treatment amazingly helped to get him back on his feet after a fracture due to a road accident. He received this treatment as part of the therapy and was prescribed to him by his doctor. He was amazed so much that after completing the training he adopted this as a profession.
