Get Back to Painless Mornings

Stop Waking Up With Back Pain

Back pain can leave you twisting and turning in the morning. There have been periods of time when I have awakened with a painful and sore back that forces me to wake up earlier than I would want to. This back pain goes away when I usually get up and start moving, though I miss the extra hour of sleep that I would have had if the back pain didn’t keep waking me up. Being fed up with the pain in my back, I set out to find remedies for the annoying back pain.

The first thing I did was look for any natural heat or hydrotherapy remedies. I found a back pad that’s meant to warm your bedsheets and sooth your back all night long. Another intriguing product I found that could offer pain relief was the air belt massager.

As I furthered my research, I discovered that many sufferers of back pain have changed their pillow and their mattress. By getting mattresses and pillows designed to support the neck and back, you can remove the nightly strain that is put on your back while sleeping.

Besides preventive measures, there are plenty of exercises I discovered that can ease back pain in the morning. The following exercises you can perform to relief back pain are:

  • Lie on your stomach and push your chest upward while keeping your waist on the ground, stretching your back
  • Lie on your face with your arms at your side for a while in the morning to give your spine time to decompress
  • Put a pillow under your abdomen to give support for your lower back when lying face down
  • Lie on your back, put a pillow under your shoulders, and stretch both arms out wide to both sides.

Also, general exercise is great for preventing back pain. By keeping your back and abdomen muscles strong and fit, you can have a back that is strong enough to resist the strain and pain that you get from lying in unnatural sleeping positions at night.
