Cut Out the Ache In Toothache

The Never Ending Pain

Many people have suffered from a toothache at one time or another, especially those who don’t take care of their teeth or who are prone to cavities. The pain is sometimes so bad that you just want to pull your tooth out, and whenever cool air, cool food, or cool drinks hit a tooth with a toothache the pain is worse until the cool feeling disappears. It is best to see a dentist for toothaches, however, there are some things that can be done to help ease the pain of a toothache until a dentist can be seen. Remember, treat your teeth like they are your best friend because when they are gone you will miss them and quite possibly regret it.

Cloves Treatment

Cloves work wonders on toothaches. At the gum line of the tooth that is in pain rub ground cloves all over it. If you prefer, you can also chew on some whole cloves or pour clove oil onto the tooth to receive the same results. Cloves work relatively quick to relieve pain due to toothaches.

Spicy Compress

The spice ginger helps to aid toothache pain. Make a ginger compress by mixing ground ginger in just enough water to create a gooey consistency paste. Dip a cotton ball into the paste and then squeeze the excess liquid from out of the cotton ball, placing the cotton ball on the painful tooth without letting it touch the gums.

Sesame Seeds - Not Just For Eating

Sesame seeds are good for both gum disease and toothaches. The reason for this is because it contains pain relieving compounds. To use sesame seeds for a toothache begin by boiling two parts water and one part sesame seeds. Continue to boil the water and sesame seeds until there is only half of the liquid remaining. Allow the water and sesame seed mixture to cool down a bit, though use it while it is warm. Dip a cotton ball in the sesame seed water, squeezing the excess sesame seed water from out of it and then apply it to the painful tooth. Any safe method that is preferred to add the sesame seed water to the painful tooth can be used as well.
