High cholesterol can be controlled by eating healthy and exercising. If you are overweight, especially men, then those extra pounds could be increasing your cholesterol levels. Some of us are lucky and only end up with dietary cholesterol, meaning our high cholesterol problem is due to what we eat, however, there are plenty of people who aren’t quite as lucky. Their high cholesterol levels are do a hereditary problem, meaning their bodies produce a high amount of cholesterol whether they eat healthy or not.
