How to Ease Shoulder Pain Naturally

man shoulder in pain

What Diets, Heat Applications, and Hydrotherapy Can Do

After having surgery on his shoulder, my dad was unable to hit the gym. He had to maintain a certain level of physical fitness for his work. Fortunately, he had mandatory retirement within a year, but weight training had become a part of his daily routine, his stress relief, and his identity. Debilitating pain can reduce your quality of life, but fortunately your body is always able to repair itself with the right nutrients.

My family never listens to my advice on naturopathic dieting and lifestyle changes. They are always more eager to seek out conventional medicine and find a pill to swallow, hoping that pill will allow them to forget about the underlying cause of pain. But since I’m always willing to nip a problem in the bud, I always keep my search engine ready to search for more healthy alternatives that won’t contribute to the toxicity of my body. Fueling Your Body’s Natural Rejuvenation Process: Sometimes the body struggles to heal whenever it is deficient in certain vitamins, minerals, nutrients, oils, etc. Also, there are many nutrients that have natural pain-relieving properties. For shoulder pain, the recommended nutrients are:

  • Omega 3 fatty acids
  • Fresh fruits
  • Leafy vegetables
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Boswellia serrata
  • Bromelain
  • Cayenne
  • Devil’s Claw
  • Methylsulfonylmethane
  • Nettle Leaf
  • Whole grains
  • Shitaki mushrooms
  • S-adenosymethionine

These nutrients are high in calcium can help combat inflammation, reduce joint pain, reduce arachidonic acid, and increase the production of bone and cartilage. Two other ways to provide relief for your shoulder pain are heat therapy and hydrotherapy. Many studies have shown that heat can provide temporary pain relief. A Heat pack designed for your shoulders  may be what you need. Even if you don’t have any major pain, this wrap feels very nice. Plenty of times I have just thrown one on because I like the feeling. If you are wondering where to find hydrotherapy for cheap, ultimatewatermassage.com has a device that turns your bathtub into a  whirlpool spa. These treatments are fantastic because they relief stiffness and pain in the joints.

Chiropractors can do so much more for an individuals overall health than most
people are aware. The above remedies are really effective when done also with
chiropractic treatment for a whole “wellness” approach to pain relief.
